Laser Hemorrhoid Treatment
Laser hemorrhoid treatment (LHP) is based on delivering laser energy through a thin fiber into the hemorrhoidal cushions to shrink the cushion from within and seal the vascular structure. The mucosa is preserved and no open wound is created.

The method is successfully applied especially in grade 2–3 hemorrhoids that bleed or prolapse. Compared with conventional hemorrhoidectomy, it provides markedly less pain and faster healing.

Pre-Assessment & Diagnosis
The diagnosis is confirmed and the stage of the disease clarified through a detailed history, physical examination and the necessary imaging and laboratory tests.

Planning & Preparation
An anaesthesia consultation, bleeding profile and review of any accompanying conditions are carried out; a multidisciplinary council decision is taken when needed.

Procedure / Operation
The procedure is performed with the technique most suitable for the patient (laparoscopic, robotic or open); tissue integrity and oncological principles are preserved.

Follow-up & Monitoring
Early mobilization, pain control and wound monitoring are provided; suture removal and a general assessment check-up are planned after discharge.
Recovery & Aftercare
There may be a mild sensation of pressure on the first day after the procedure; most patients return to work within 2–4 days.

What are bowel movements like after laser treatment?
There may be mild discomfort in the first few days; the process is comfortable with plenty of fluids, a high-fiber diet, and a mild laxative if needed.
How does it differ from conventional hemorrhoidectomy?
Because no open wound is created with the laser, pain is markedly less, healing is fast, and the recurrence rate is low in appropriately selected patients.
Is it suitable for grade 4 hemorrhoids?
In very advanced (grade 4) prolapsed cases, conventional or combined techniques may be preferred; the decision is made after examination and assessment.
Do hemorrhoids recur?
When diet, constipation, and bowel habits are kept under control, the recurrence rate is low. Lifestyle adjustment is an important part of treatment.
